Introductory course in teaching and learning in higher education
Do you teach at UiT? Do you want to develop further as a teacher?
This course is intended for PhD students, postdocs and staff working at UiT. It will be an opportunity to develop and/or improve your teaching skills, and to meet people in a similar situation as you. Please note that this is not a replacement for UNIPED-100.

Admission requirements
To participate in the course, you must be one of the following:
PhD student at UiT
With or without teaching responsibilities
Employee at UiT
Academic or administrative, with or without teaching responsibilities
Postdoc at UiT
With or without teaching responsibilities
Requirements for completion
In order to receive a certificate of participation in the course, you must:
Participate in the introductory meeting
Read through the Canvas modules
Present and participate in Microteaching and Presentation of teaching plan
Complete the knowledge test in Canvas

Course model
What can you expect the programme to include? Here you can see how the programme is structured and what is to be completed during your time as a participant.
Introductory session
Brief introduction to the instructors, the course and the assignments. You will have the opportunity to ask questions.
Microteaching
An opportunity to teach in a small group with other participants. You’ll get tips and feedback from the instructors and other participants.
Presentation of teaching plan
Plan a lecture, seminar or course and present it to other course participants.
You must attend all three sessions to receive the course certificate.
The course is held in both Norwegian and English.
The scope of the programme is around 30 hours.
