The online course was launched in October 2023, and on-campus teaching takes place in the autumn semester 2023 (around 500 students). In teaching for campus students, the video is used in a context of “Flipped classroom”, where students watch the video before they attend the lecture about “Schumpeter and Innovation”. The video provides a good starting point for discussing Schumpeter’s theories. In the online course the video is included in an educational context where «Schumpeter and Innovation» is one of 20 topics. Before the students watch the video, they are given a textual introduction about the topic and what they will learn about. The same page outlines the learning outcomes for the topic and which syllabus the topic covers. It is recommended that students watch the video before reading the syllabus, so that they acquire general knowledge before reading the syllabus. After watching the video and reading the syllabus, students work with self-tests, in the form of free-text questions with suggested answers/hints about what their answer should include, and multiple-choice questions. The online course contains four modules, where the topic of Schumpeter is one of five topics in module four. The module concludes with a written assignment, where Schumpeter’s view of innovation is one of several relevant topics. Students will receive written feedback on the assignment from their online tutor. The course concludes with a 72-hour written home exam.
