Instituttleder har en sentral rolle i arbeidet med utdanningsfaglig kvalifisering. For at meritteringsordningen skal fungere, m\u00e5 instituttlederen engasjere seg. Det gjelder b\u00e5de i arbeidet med \u00e5 identifisere aktuelle kandidater og \u00e5 s\u00f8rge for hensiktsmessig st\u00f8tte til s\u00f8kerne i form av mentorordning og s\u00f8keseminar. I en kultur der forskning tradisjonelt har blitt tillagt st\u00f8rre verdi enn utdanning, har de gode l\u00e6rere ikke alltid f\u00e5tt den <strong>oppmerksomheten<\/strong> de fortjener. <strong>\u00c5 se<\/strong> og <strong>verdsette<\/strong> sine medarbeidere er en <strong>sentral lederoppgave<\/strong>. I arbeidet med utdanningskvalitet er det en viktig oppgave for instituttledere \u00e5 <strong>identifisere aktuelle s\u00f8kere<\/strong> for status som merittert underviser. Det gjelder ikke bare kandidater som \u00e5penbart vil st\u00e5 sterkt om de leverer en s\u00f8knad. Selv for kandidater som har kompetanseniv\u00e5et inne, kan det v\u00e6re utfordrende \u00e5 dokumentere dette p\u00e5 en hensiktsmessig m\u00e5te.\u00a0 <strong>God st\u00f8tte<\/strong> i s\u00f8knadsprosessen vil v\u00e6re <strong>viktig<\/strong> for at s\u00f8knaden skal n\u00e5 opp til de standarder som gjelder. <strong>Fakultetet<\/strong> har en sentral rolle i \u00e5 <strong>tilrettelegge<\/strong> for at s\u00f8kerne kan f\u00e5 slik st\u00f8tte,\u00a0 for eksempel i form av\u00a0 mentorer og s\u00f8keseminarer. Planen skal utarbeides i dialog med s\u00f8ker. S\u00f8knaden skal inneholde refleksjoner og planer for s\u00f8kers videre utvikling som underviser. For at disse planene skal dra i samme retning, m\u00e5 instituttleder og s\u00f8ker <strong>samarbeide tett<\/strong>. <strong>Instituttets plan<\/strong> for hvordan nyttiggj\u00f8re seg av den merittertes kompetanse utformes som et <strong>anbefalingsbrev<\/strong>, som utgj\u00f8r et av de obligatoriske vedlegg til s\u00f8knaden. Brevet fra instituttleder er en anledning til \u00e5 beskrive hvilke verdier og ambisjoner som ligger til grunn for \u00e5 oppn\u00e5 status som et merittert fagmilj\u00f8. Det kan v\u00e6re en utfordring for instituttledere \u00e5 utforme et slik brev.
